Gynecology
We accompany women through all phases of life, from early teens, through family planning and pregnancy, to menopause and beyond. We are here to help you lead a happy and healthful life.
Preventive care
Complicated treatments can often be avoided if the treatment begins early. The following preventive examinations are covered annually by health insurance:
From the age of 20:
- Gynecological examination, examination of the genital skin region, and palpation
Additionally from the age of 30:
- Visual and palpation examination of the mammary glands, the lymph drainage areas as well as the breast skin and nipples.
From the age of 50:
- Mammography screening at the age of 50-69 years.
- Examination for blood in stool
- Colorectal cancer screening from the age of 55
- Since 01.01.2020 change of screening for cervical cancer:
- Continuation of annual screening.
- 20-34 years of age: annual collection of examination material from the surface of the cervix and from the cervix (Pap smear) with subsequent cytological examination
- From the age of 35: collection of material from the surface of the cervix and from the cervix (Pap smear) with subsequent cytological examination and HPV testing every 3 years.
Suspicious findings are further clarified within the framework of early detection. Depending on the findings, by means of a further cytological examination, a test for human papilloma viruses (HPV test) or a colposcopy (examination of the cervix).
Extended screening with breast and vaginal ultrasound
Cancer is often treatable in its early stages. You should therefore take advantage of the additional preventive examinations we offer. These ultrasounds are not covered by the health insurance. If you have any questions about the preventive examinations, please contact us. We will be happy to advise you!
Vaccinations
Vaccinations are one of the most successful preventive measures. For girls and women, adequate protection is especially important! We check your vaccination status and carry out the usual vaccinations. Please bring your vaccination card with you to the practice.
Dysplasia consultation
Dysplasias are cell alterations that are not malignant. In rare cases, they can develop into cancer. The dysplasia consultation is used for screening and clarification of unclear findings on the external and internal genitalia.
Examination of sexually transmitted infections
Sexually transmitted diseases are infections that are usually transmitted through sexual contact. Some pathogens can spread through the blood and infect internal organs. Don't be afraid to contact us if you suspect an infection.
Teen consultation
We take time to talk to you about birth control. We discuss questions about sexuality, problems with your period. A gynecological exam is often not necessary during a first visit.
Contraception
Many women see modern contraceptive methods as an opportunity to plan their lives and harmonize family and career. The choice of a suitable contraceptive method depends, among other things, on age, personal risks and the planned contraceptive period. We advise on the selection of a method that is suitable for you.
Fertility
We discuss with you what to consider when planning a pregnancy. If you have been trying to get pregnant for some time, we can carry out cycle monitoring, look for possible causes and take certain steps. If the unfulfilled wish to have a child persists for a longer period of time and is not realised by our measures, we will refer you to a specialised fertility centre.
Hormone consultation
There are various life situations in which hormone testing can be useful. For example, in the case of cycle irregularities with infrequent periods, an unfulfilled desire to have children, hair loss, early absence of periods or a suspected increase in male hormones. We will discuss with you whether such an examination makes sense.
Menopause
Menopause can affect women very differently. Some have almost no complaints, others suffer from hot flushes, bleeding disorders, sleep disturbances, joint problems, hair loss, mood swings or weight gain. We discuss together what things are affecting you and work out an individual therapy approach. Lifestyle changes, herbal preparations or hormone preparations can be part of the treatment.
Breast diseases
Diseases of the female breast are quite common. In most cases they are benign diseases. If you notice pain or changes in your breast, a careful examination should be carried out. Please make an appointment for this during our consultation hours.
Gynecological Oncology
Gynecological oncology is a specialization of gynecology. It includes the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care of malignant diseases of the female breast and the gynecological lower abdomen.
Urinary incontinence/lowering symptoms
The causes of incontinence can vary greatly. Women of all ages can be affected. Involuntary loss of urine is a problem that women don't like to talk about. Please do not be ashamed to bring up the subject. We will confidently assist you with diagnostics and therapy.
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a benign disease of the internal reproductive organs. Common symptoms are painful menstrual bleeding and chronic lower abdominal discomfort. We will advise you on therapy and treatment options.
